Alarm Email Notifications Explained

Shown below are alarm emails sent when an alarm is triggered, occurred or come to an end. The brief explanations highlight what each alarm trigger signifies.

FlowWorks New Alarm

A new alarm has been detected, and the condition is continuing. No end yet.

FlowWorks Alarm Occurred

A new alarm has been detected, and it has already ended by the time we found it.

Note:

A short event will cause this 'Occurred' notice since the condition starts and stops during a single call-in period from the device. For example, if the device calls every hour on the hour, an alarm that starts at 9:15 and ends at 9:30 will show as 'occurred' once we receive the call-in at 10:00.

To reduce these brief spike notifications ("alarm occurred" events), a short dwell time actually makes it more likely to have 'Occurred' events. Increase the dwell time to something larger to reduce the number of these short events.

FlowWorks Alarm Ended

An alarm condition that was previously reported as "new" has now ended.
